Using the Shopping Cart

    With Oxford's shopping cart, buying an Oxford book is as easy as 1-2-3.
    1. Find books on the Oxford site.
    2. Place each book in your cart.
    3. Check out.

    Putting Books in Your Cart
    Once you've found a book on our site that you would like to buy, add it to your cart by clicking on the Add To Cart image. Buy

    After you place a book in your cart, you can review and edit the contents of your cart. Books remain in your cart for one hour or until you close your Web browser.

    Viewing What's in Your Cart
    After placing a book in your cart, the contents of your cart is displayed. You can also view the contents of your cart at any time, by clicking on the Cart link at the top of any Oxford web page.

    When viewing the contents of your cart, you can edit your cart contents, continue shopping, or check out. To continue shopping, click on the Continue Shopping link.

    Books remain in your cart for one hour or until you close your Web browser.

    Changing What's in Your Cart
    You can change the contents of your cart either after you place a book in your cart, after clicking on the Cart link at the top of any Oxford web page, or when you review your order during the final checkout.

    To change the number of copies, edit the number in the Qty (quantity) box beside the book title. To remove a title from your cart, click on the Remove link beside the book title. To make updating your cart easy, any changes you make will be recorded by the cart regardless of which button you select. The Update button allows you to update the contents of your cart and remain on the cart view page.

    Books remain in your cart for one hour or until you close your Web browser.

    Checking Out
    Once you select all the titles you would like to purchase and are ready to place your order, view your cart and click on the Check Out link. The next screen displays a form for your shipping address.

    After entering your shipping address, you will be asked for the payment information required to complete your order. Should it be necessary, you can print your form and then send it to us via fax or postal service - or order over the phone, with all the information at your fingertips. Before sending your order to Oxford, you will be given the option of editing your order information, including billing and shipping information or cart contents.

    If you choose to order online, your order will be sent to Oxford when you click on the Send Order button.

    If you choose to order by fax, mail, or phone, your final order, including any special promotion codes, will be displayed for you to print and complete your order.

Ordering

    Ordering Methods
    Oxford accepts orders online as well as by fax, mail, or phone. If you are using the online shopping cart, you will be asked to select your order method and the checkout screens will ask you for any information needed to complete your order. After all information for your chosen order method is entered, your order will either be sent to Oxford, if you chose online, or your order will be displayed for faxing, mailing, or calling Oxford.

    Security
    Oxford University Press provides a secure online order form using Thawte Digital Cerrtificates® for individuals placing credit card orders.

    Payment Options
    For book orders placed online, by fax, or by phone, Oxford University Press accepts MasterCard, Visa, and American Express.

    For book orders sent by postal mail, you can use your credit card (MasterCard, Visa, or American Express) or send a check or money order payable to Oxford University Press. Checks and money orders must be in US dollars.

    Sales Tax
    Customers living in North Carolina and California are required to include sales tax for for orders places. Customers will be prompted to enter the appropriate percentage at Checkout.

    Shipping Rates and Policies
    Our standard method of shipping for US website orders is the US Mail. Standard shipping charges for US orders is $5.25 for the first book and $1.50 for each additional book. Our standard method of shipping for orders outside the US is air mail. Standard shipping charges for orders outside of the US is $10.00 for the first book and $5.00 for each additional book. In some case, other shipping charges may apply, these charges are noted on the catalog page and will be reflected in the shopping cart at checkout. Other methods of shipping such as Federal Express, UPS Ground, and Next Day Air can be requested BUT not when ordering and completing an order online. To change shipping method, please select Order by Phone as your ordering method, then call the contact number provided. The order representative will provide you with the details on additional charges. Shipping via US Mail can take up to 5 weeks transit time. Oxford will not ship orders for more than $100.00 via US Mail.

    International Orders
    OUP-USA accepts international orders via our website using our online shopping cart. Standard shipping for international orders is $10.00 for the first book and $5.00 for each additional book. In all cases, additional shipping charges will apply - these will be noted on the catalog page and at checkout. All international web orders ship via surface mail. In some cases, certain restrictions apply to selling books outside of the United States. Pricing and Availability

    Prices stated on this server are stated in US dollars and valid only for sales transacted through the US website. Prices for not yet published titles are tentative and final pricing is determined at publication. Prices, shipping and handling, and publication dates are subject to change without notice. Please note: due to contractual restrictions, books may not be available for sale in all territories.

Books not yet Published

    For books not yet published, customers providing a valid credit card number will be charged when the books ordered are shipped. Please note that prices for not yet published titles are tentative and final pricing is determined at publication. To inquire about the status of an order you have already placed, email: custserv@oup-usa.org or visit www.oup-usa.org/custserv.

Out-of-print Books

    A title listed as out of print" is not available from Oxford University Press but may still be found via a book search from a local bookseller or from an antiquarian bookseller, many of whom conduct business over the Web.

Import to Order Titles

    A title published by one of the OUP branches (i.e., Canada, UK, Australia) but not carried in the OUP-US catalog, usually can be imported from the other OUP location. Contact Customer Service either by phone (1-800-445-9714), fax (1-919-677-1303), or email with as much information as possible about the title (author, title, ISBN) as well as your name and address. If the title is available, an order will be placed.

    Once the order is placed it normally takes 3 to 4 weeks to obtain the title. Alternate shipping methods can be arranged if the customer is willing to pay the additional charges.

Email Confirmation

After entering an order online, an email confirmation will automatically be sent upon receipt of the order to all customers who provide a valid email address during the checkout process. If you did not enter a valid email address, we cannot provide you with this email confirmation receipt.

Associations, Organizations, Schools, Libraries, or Businesses

    If you are part of an association, organization, school, library, or business, you may be eligible for a discount.

Booksellers, Wholesalers and Retailers

    Booksellers, Wholesalers and Retailers can place orders using PUBNET and Advantis/IBM Electronic Data Interchange* (EDI) Services.
